Dear Sirs and Madams,
I cordially invite you to participate in the next, 28th edition of the Specjaliści Specjalistom conference in Krakow. Organizing it was not an easy task. Comparing the possibilities of preparing this type of conference 25 or even 10 years ago and today, I notice great differences in the approach to this type of meetings from all parties participating in them. These changes are undoubtedly a consequence of civilization progress, digitalization, experiences related to the COVID pandemic and the increasingly difficult global economic situation. Especially over the last few or a dozen years, the profile of interests of participants in the meetings I organize has been changing. Treatment methods used to be the most important topic, followed by immunoprophylaxis. After the ASF outbreak, we began to focus on the broadly understood issue of biosecurity, especially disinfection. In the last few years, we have become increasingly interested in the well-being of pigs, which has a huge impact on the health and efficiency of pig production, including ways of managing environmental conditions, optimizing pig nutrition and the possibilities of influencing the extremely important, from a health point of view, microbiome of the gastrointestinal tract. With increasing interest we listen to lectures on probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics and herbal preparations, which were once "unimportant" for most people. We are starting to talk about the possibilities of using artificial intelligence or digitalization in production management. As in previous years, I managed to invite outstanding scientists and practitioners from leading pig producing countries, such as Spain, Denmark and Great Britain, to Krakow. There are great lecturers in Poland who are also outstanding and recognized practitioners. I invited some of them to give lectures or participate in two panel discussions devoted to the as yet unresolved problem of excessive, not always rational, use of antibiotics in our country. As always, I count on the participation in the "Kraków conference of hyopathologists" of almost all specialists in pig diseases, which always constitute a significant group of participants. I am proud that a significant number of specialists, even those who had to change their professional interests, come to the meetings I organize. As every year, I emphasize that it would not be possible to organize the conference in such a place, on such a scale and with such lecturers if it were not for generous sponsors and exhibitors, whom I would like to thank for their support. I would also like to thank the POLPIG Association, which effectively participated in the preparation of the conference program. Wishing you all the best, I look forward to meeting you in Krakow. The place is the same as before - the Metropolo Hotel Congress Center. The date is June 18-19, 2024. We focus on the high level of the conference program, but together with the technical organizer of the conference - Rexan, we made sure that our traditionally social meeting was at a level no worse than the substantive part. See you in Krakow! Best regards

About Cracow
Cracow is a unique city – over a thousand years of history, the former capital of the country, the necropolis of Polish kings and as well as the cultural, educational, scientific and economic centre of the region.
Each year, it is a place that holds high positions in the rankings of European cities most beautiful and most visited by tourists. No surprise there! The rich history is visible here almost everywhere, and the artistic spirit is simply hovering over the streets of the Old Town. The same streets, that prominent aristocrats, clergypersons, writers and artists have strolled through for ages.
